Archives+ is based on the ground floor of Manchester Central Library.  It offers a wonderful, purpose-built showcase and repository for the region’s archive material and family history.

The main partners in Archives+ are:

• Greater Manchester County Record Office

• Manchester Libraries, Information and Archives (Manchester City Council)

• North West Film Archive (Manchester Metropolitan University)

• Ahmed Iqbal Ullah RACE Centre (University of Manchester)

• Manchester & Lancashire Family History Society

• Manchester Histories

Displays and exhibitions explore the rich collections to tell the stories of Manchester’s people and communities. You’ll find a full-range of local and family history resources, from books, maps, original materials and sound archives to self-service digitised items and online resources like ancestry.com and findmypast.com.

Archives+ brings history to life using interactive exhibits including sound and vision kiosks. Its focus is on telling stories and helping us to identify with our past. Our history isn’t just about the great and the good, it’s about personal testimony from ordinary people: a child in the cotton mill, the navvy, the land girl.

The blog includes posts on our collections, digital engagement and conservation. Follow us on Twitter, Facebook or email us at: archiveslocalstudies@manchester.gov.uk

However Im trying to check when the last record of this property being a petshop. I know it was previously part of department store and a machiner retail unit but I would like to know when it became a petshop?
