Sunday 2nd June was a glorious day for the Manchester Day Parade. The Archives+ stall embraced the “Wish you were here” theme by showing off our collection of family photo albums, photos and postcards.
We met hundreds of people who shared their memories of family holidays and reminisced fondly about bygone Manchester. We discovered that most people preferred the Piccadilly Gardens of the 1960’s. One young person said
“We’ll probably look back at our own photographs when we’re eighty saying “ooh that’s fascinating”.”
We never did get a conclusive answer to our question “Is this donkey real?”. What do you think?
